  Rescue

  Remove persons out of the immediate fire area.
  If the fire is in a patient’s room, first remove the patient and shut the door to the room on your way out.

  Alarm

  PULL the fire alarm. DIAL #2222.
  REPORT (Code Red, Room #____) the fire, what is burning and the size of the fire.

• Connector.
  

  Confine

  Shut the doors and windows to the immediate fire area.

• Connector.
  

  Extinguish

  Use the fire extinguishers properly

  Pull

  Pull the Pin

• Connector.
  

  Aim

  Aim the hose at the base of the fire

• Connector.
  

  Squeeze

  Squeeze the handle

• Connector.
  

  Sweep

  Sweep at the base of the fire

Reassure patients and visitors that the emergency is under control.

Keep visitors with patients and keep doors to patient rooms shut.
