  • Facilities is to be notified immediately to assess and change air exchanges to the outside.

  • Minimize the effect of loss of heating and cooling:

    SUMMER: Turn off all nonessential heat producing equipment (e.g., computers, autoclaves, etc) and cease heat producing activities (e.g., food production, elective procedures, etc). Provide comfort measures to patients, guests and staff (e.g., water, cool towels, fans).
    WINTER: Provide additional blankets to patients.

  • Advise the Hospital Command Center (HCC) of any problems.
